• Installation and Administration of RedHat and Suse Linux Servers
• Must  possess basic understanding of remote management tools like ILO, ILOM, DRAC
• Overview of RHEL layered products like GFS, RHN, Cluster Suite
• Configuration and Administration of  SUSE and Redhat.
• LVM / VxVM /filesystem Administration.
• Patch implementation & maintenance
• Hardware knowledge for Intel-based HP/Dell/Sun servers
• Service Management – NIS / NIS+ / DNS / NFS / Samba / Apache/Send Mail
• SUDO installation, Security administration and system hardening.
• Monitor Resource Utilization and server health status.
• Extensive knowledge on native Performance monitoring tools usage.[top, vmstat.Iostat]
• Perform a trend analysis of CPU/Memory/Disk utilization for critical platforms/servers.
• Overview of Shell scripting.
