The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, invites applications from Indian nationals for Consultant (Flight Operations Inspectors) in various categories on a contractual basis. These positions are available initially for one year or until the selected candidate reaches the age of 65, whichever is earlier.

As per the DGCA Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a valid Indian Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and relevant flight experience are eligible to apply.

The selection process will be based on merit, considering the candidate's qualifications, experience, and eligibility requirements specified by DGCA.

The selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration ranging between ₹2,82,800 and ₹7,46,000, depending on the category and experience.

Eligibility Criteria for DGCA Consultant (FOIs) Posts:

Total Vacancies: 16

Name of the Posts:

• Senior Flight Operations Inspector (Aeroplane): 1 Post
• Flight Operations Inspector (Aeroplane): 10 Posts
• Flight Operations Inspector (Helicopter): 5 Posts

Educational Qualifications:

Senior Flight Operations Inspector (Aeroplane):

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Valid Indian ATPL issued by DGCA.
  • Pilot in Command (PIC) rating on civil air transport aircraft above 5700 kg.
  • Minimum 6000 hours of total flying experience, with at least 4000 hours as PIC.
  • Valid Class I Medical Assessment.
  • Open rating for aircraft not exceeding 5700 kg (or proof of application for it).
  • Accident-free record in the last five years.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience as an Examiner/Instructor.
  • Graduation in Engineering or a Master’s Degree in Science.

Flight Operations Inspector (Aeroplane):

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Valid Indian ATPL issued by DGCA.
  • PIC rating on civil air transport aircraft above 5700 kg.
  • Minimum 5000 hours of total flying experience, with at least 1500 hours as PIC.
  • Valid Class I Medical Assessment.
  • Accident-free record in the last five years.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience as an Examiner/Instructor.
  • Graduation in Science with Physics and Mathematics.

Flight Operations Inspector (Helicopter):

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Valid Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) issued by DGCA.
  • PIC rating on civil helicopters.
  • Minimum 3000 hours of total flying experience, with at least 1500 hours as PIC.
  • Valid Class I Medical Assessment.
  • Accident-free record in the last five years.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Instrument Rating (IR) and PPC on civil helicopters.
  • Experience as a TRE/TRI/Check Pilot.
