The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) invites applications for the Scientist - Seed Systems Specialist position to support the Global Research Program Accelerated Crop Improvement. The position is based at ICRISAT Headquarters, Patancheru, Hyderabad, India, and will be on a contractual basis for 36 months.

As per the ICRISAT Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a Ph.D. in Agriculture or Development Studies are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualifications

Desirable Skills

• Ability to develop and implement seed systems research.
• Knowledge of policy advocacy and breeding techniques.
• Strong scientific writing and publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Contract Duration

• 36 months (contractual position).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for scaling the adoption of new crop varieties.
• Build partnerships to strengthen seed production and delivery systems.
• Conduct research to identify constraints in seed adoption and develop solutions.
• Facilitate collaborations with agribusinesses, financial institutions, and NGOs.
• Lead initiatives to empower women and youth in dryland farming.
• Develop project proposals and contribute to resource mobilization.
