The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) invites applications from qualified Indian nationals for the post of Senior Research Fellow – Agronomy under the Monsoon Mission-III project. The role involves supporting field implementation, crop-weather modelling, and decision-support content development. The appointment is purely on a contractual basis for a duration of 36 months.

As per the ICRISAT Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agrometeorology, or Soil and Water Engineering, along with 2–3 years of relevant experience, are eligible to apply.

The selection will be based on shortlisting followed by further evaluation.

The selected candidate will be offered a consolidated monthly salary as per the norms of the organization.

Educational Qualifications

Essential:

• Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agrometeorology, or Soil and Water Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in climate-smart agriculture, field research, and crop systems modelling

Desirable:

• Experience in crop modelling (DSSAT, APSIM), spatial data analysis (GIS/QGIS), metadata curation, and decision-support content creation
• Familiarity with weather-based advisories, simulation tools (InVest/InQuest), and coordination with extension networks
