The Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, invites applications for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Additional Professor positions in various departments on a direct recruitment basis. The appointments will be on a regular basis.

As per the IGIMS Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with qualifications in BDS and MDS in relevant disciplines, along with the required teaching or research experience, are eligible to apply.

The selection for the desired posts will be based on merit, determined through an interview.

The selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from Level 12 (₹1,01,500) to Level 13-A2+ (₹1,48,200) per month, plus NPA and other allowances as applicable.

• Assistant Professor: 15
• Associate Professor: 4
• Additional Professor: 1

Educational Qualifications:

• Assistant Professor
  • BDS from a recognized institute, included in Part-I of the Dentist Act, 1948.
  • MDS in the respective specialty or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Three years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining the qualifying degree.
• Associate Professor
  • BDS and MDS in the relevant field from a recognized institute.
  • Six years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the MDS qualification.
• Additional Professor
  • BDS and MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or an equivalent qualification.
  • Ten years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the MDS qualification.

Age Limit:

• Assistant Professor & Associate Professor: Maximum 50 years
• Additional Professor: Maximum 58 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • EBC/BC & Female Candidates: 3 years
  • As per Bihar Government rules.
