National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited applications for Assistant Professor Grade-II, Assistant Professor Grade-I, Associate Professor and Professor posts in various departments.

As per the NIT Goa Recruitment 2026 Notification, candidates with a Ph.D. and the prescribed academic qualifications and experience can apply for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor posts.

The selection process consists of scrutiny and shortlisting of applications based on eligibility, credit points, experience and academic or research performance, followed by presentation and interview.

The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging between ₹70,900 and ₹1,59,100, depending on the post and pay level.

Interested and eligible candidates must submit their online application through the official portal on or before 30.09.2026 and ensure that the hard copy of the application with supporting documents reaches the Institute on or before 07.10.2026.

Educational Qualifications

All new entrants must have a Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline and First Class in the preceding degrees from Bachelor's Degree onwards.

Candidates having a Ph.D. degree directly after a four-year UG degree in Engineering are also eligible, subject to having First Class at Bachelor's degree and furnishing the prescribed undertaking.

Age Limit

Direct appointment beyond the age of 60 years is discouraged, except in the case of faculty with an exceptionally brilliant research career and an ongoing or approved externally funded research project.

Age relaxation will be as per Government of India norms and rules applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and women candidates.

Application Fee

The application fee is payable per Department per post applied for through the online recruitment portal.

The application processing fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Application fees must be paid through the link provided in the online recruitment portal only.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of scrutiny of applications for eligibility followed by shortlisting based on credit point score, experience and research or academic performance.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a lecture in the respective department on a topic from the core UG subject using a black or white board. This will be followed by a personal interview in which the candidate will make a presentation on past research work and future research plans.

Steps to Apply

1. Applicants are required to apply only through the online recruitment portal of the Institute's website: http://www.nitgoa.ac.in. Applicants may click on the online application link, read the instructions carefully and fill up the online application form. The online application link will be closed at 5:00 PM on 30th September 2026.
2. Before filling the Application Form, the candidate must ensure her/his eligibility for the post in respect of qualification and other requisite criteria.
3. Candidates serving in Government/Semi-Government/PSUs/Universities/Educational Institutions should send their applications through Proper Channel. They may send an advance copy of the application form and relevant enclosures. However, they should furnish NOC and vigilance clearance from their employer/competent authority at the time of interview.
4. Forwarding of Application or submission of NOC is not required for serving regular faculty members of NIT Goa.
5. Candidates should apply sufficiently in time without waiting for the last date. No request for any extension of the last date will be considered on any ground whatsoever.
6. Candidate should pay a non-refundable Application fee per Department per post applied through online payment: ₹1,500 for General/OBC candidates, ₹500 for women candidates, SC/ST/PwD/EWS candidates are exempted from application fees, and USD $50 for Indian Nationals applying from abroad for all categories. Application fees have to be paid through the link provided in the online recruitment portal only.
7. Candidates will be required to submit a separate Application Form for each post and each Department with a separate application fee. If a candidate applies for more posts, department or cadre in one application, her/his form will be summarily rejected.
8. Candidates should carefully fill up all details required in the online application form, including the credit point summary sheet, credit point detailed sheet etc., and pay the required application fee.
9. Incomplete application will be summarily rejected.
10. Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage.
11. Self-attested relevant documents shall be attached with the application.
12. Candidates should enclose only very specific documents in support of claims and should refrain from enclosing redundant or irrelevant documents such as Ph.D. thesis and complete published papers. Such irrelevant documents will be separated from the application dossier and discarded, and the Institute shall not be responsible if any relevant document is discarded in the process.
13. After submission of the online application form, the candidates must print a copy of the same, fill the relevant annexures/enclosures and attach all the supporting documents. The hard-copy of the application form along with self-attested enclosures, credit point sheets, supporting and relevant documents should be sent by speed/registered post to “The Registrar, NIT-GOA Campus, Kottamoll Plateau, Cuncolim Municipal Area, Salcete Taluka, South Goa District, State of Goa, Pin–403703”. The envelope must be super-scribed as “Application for in the Department of 2026 vide Advt. no. NITGOA/RECT/2026/OW/14”. No soft-copy through email will be accepted from a candidate working in India.
14. The applicant must keep a copy of the online submitted application, which will be required to produce as and when asked.
15. Applications received after the stipulated date due to postal delay or any other reasons or found incomplete in any respect shall not be considered. No further query will be entertained in this regard.
16. No additional document(s), certificate(s) or corrections will be accepted after submission of the final application form.
17. Request for individual acknowledgements shall not be considered.
18. Only applicants who are currently residing abroad can submit a scanned copy of the filled-in application form with all supporting and relevant documents to [email protected]; however, they also need to send the hard copy by courier, not later than October 7, 2026 by 5 PM. Non-receipt of the hard copy may result in non-consideration of such application.
