The National Centre for Polar & Ocean Research (NCPOR), Shipboard Assistant 2025 Job Notification | B.Sc/Diploma | Walk-in Interview

The National Centre for Polar & Ocean Research (NCPOR), an Autonomous Society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, invites eligible Indian Nationals for the position of Shipboard Assistant on a temporary contractual basis. The recruitment is under project mode, and the selection will be through a walk-in interview.

In accordance with the NCPOR Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with B.Sc. or Three-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology are eligible to apply.

The selection for the post will be based on merit, determined through a walk-in interview.

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs.20000 + HRA.

The maximum age limit is 50 years.

Educational Qualifications:

• Essential Qualifications:
  • B.Sc. or Three-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in sailing onboard ships, preferably research ships.

Nature of Responsibilities:

• Sailing onboard NCPOR ship ORV Sagar Kanya and performing the following tasks:
  • Daily logging of vessel activities.
  • Communication with the vessel management cell.
  • Monitoring maintenance works onboard.
  • Upkeep of vessel utilities, spares, and consumables.
  • Assisting scientists with data collection onboard.
  • Vessel management activities ashore at NCPOR.
• Extensive fieldwork, camps, and sailings.

• Report to the interview venue with the following documents:
  • Original certificates of educational qualifications, date of birth, and work experience.
  • Self-attested copies of all relevant certificates.
  • A valid photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License).
  • Recent passport-sized photographs.
  • Filled application form in the prescribed format (Annexure-I).
