The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) invites applications from Malawian nationals for the Research Technician position in the Accelerated Crop Improvement - Crop Breeding program. The appointments are purely on a contractual basis for a duration of 12 months.

As per the ICRISAT Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Plant Breeding, Agricultural Sciences, or Applied Biology, along with a minimum of three years of experience in managing agricultural field activities or research projects, are eligible to apply.

The selection for the desired post will be based on merit, determined through an assessment of qualifications and relevant experience.

The selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary based on the organization’s norms.

• Ability to drive (manual gear) and travel independently across Malawi for trial and demo monitoring.
• Experience in managing labor, estimating labor demand, and training field staff.
