The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is inviting applications for the position of Scientist – Agricultural/Food Systems Economist to support Technology Adoption and Impact Analysis under the global Research Program Enabling Systems Transformation. The appointment is on a contractual basis for 36 months and is open for locations in Accra (Ghana), Bamako (Mali), Dakar (Senegal), Kano (Nigeria), and Niamey (Niger).

As per the ICRISAT Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural/Applied Economics, Development Economics, or Food Economics with experience in farm management economics, project monitoring, and impact analysis are eligible to apply.

The selection process will be based on merit, determined through an interview and evaluation of academic and research credentials.

The selected candidates will receive a competitive salary package based on project norms.

Educational Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Agricultural/Applied Economics, Development Economics, or Food Economics.
• Experience in farm management economics, project monitoring, evaluation, and learning.

• Experience in econometric analysis, large-scale field surveys, and STATA software.
• Familiarity with dryland farming systems and socio-economic aspects of food security.
• Prior experience in CGIAR centers, universities, IARCs, or NGOs working in agricultural research.

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in food systems interventions, agricultural economics, and impact evaluation.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative research in agricultural policy and rural development.
