The National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) invites applications for the positions of Research Assistant and Field Investigator under an Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Collaborative Empirical Research Project in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The appointments are purely temporary and will last until the completion of the project.

As per the NIT Silchar Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a Postgraduate degree in Social Science are eligible to apply.

The selection will be based on a shortlisting process followed by an interview.

The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹37,000 for the Research Assistant and ₹20,000 for the Field Investigator, as per ICSSR-approved rates.

Educational Qualifications:

Research Assistant

• Postgraduate degree in Social Science with at least 55% marks.
• Preference will be given to candidates with NET/M.Phil./Ph.D.
• Proficiency in data collection tools, statistical analysis, and report writing is desirable.

Field Investigator

• Postgraduate degree in Social Science with minimum 55% marks.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
