National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the SERB-funded project titled "Sophisticated Optimised DC-DC Converter for Charging Electric Vehicle Using Reliable GaN devices and Planar Magnetics." The appointment is initially for one year, extendable based on project requirements.

As per the NITK Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with a B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/M.E. in relevant fields eligible to apply. 

The selection for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post will be based on shortlisting of applications followed by a written test or interview.

The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary of Rs.35,000, as per project norms.

Educational Qualifications

• Essential Qualification:
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
  • M.Tech/M.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
  • Minimum 7.5/10 CGPA or 75% marks in postgraduate degree.
• Desirable Qualification:
  • GATE qualification.
  • Expertise in MATLAB, PSCAD simulations, development of power electronics hardware, FPGA or DSP coding, and project management.
  • Candidates without GATE may be considered if they have strong expertise in Power Electronics and Hardware Implementation.

• Work Location: NITK, Surathkal, Karnataka.
• Contract Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance.
