Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, invites applications for Director positions at its various institutes. The appointments will be on a regular basis under Direct Recruitment, with all India transfer liability.

As per the ICMR Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with an MD/MS, MBBS with MPH, or M.Sc./MBBS with Ph.D. from a recognized university are eligible to apply.

The selection will be based on shortlisting followed by an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email.

The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging between Rs.1,44,200 and Rs.2,18,200, plus HRA, as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Level 14).

Name of the Posts

• Director - National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (NIIRNCD), Jodhpur
• Director - National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH), Ahmedabad
• Director - National Institute for Research in Tribal Health (NIRTH), Jabalpur
• Director - National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT), Chennai

Educational Qualifications

• MD/MS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC
• MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC with MPH from a recognized university
• M.Sc. or MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC with Ph.D. from a recognized university

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 15 years of experience
• At least 5 years in a managerial position, handling R&D projects independently
• Experience in specialized research areas related to respective institutes
• Minimum 2 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 13-A or equivalent

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 58 years
• Age relaxation as per government norms

Tenure of Appointment

• Initial appointment for 5 years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier
• Extension for an additional 5 years based on review

Selection Process

• Shortlisting based on qualifications and experience
• Final selection through an interview
