Job Summary:
Job Description: LAN engineer
(Mandatory having hands on experience on Juniper network products)
Certification Requirements:
Juniper Certification: Routing & switching.
Functional Requirements:
- Deploy and configure network solutions following design documents
- Provide network support for local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet connectivity
o during installations and
o during incident management
- Document network implementations in CMDB
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting
- Ensure network stability, security and network performance
- Manage day to day network infrastructure
- Participate in on duty role team planning
Technical Expertise Requirements:
Enterprise switching & routing
o Vlan concepts (Vlans, voice Vlans, native Vlans, inter vlan routing)
o Spanning Tree concepts (STP, RSTP, MSTP)
o High Availability concepts (Switch stacking concepts, Multichassis LAG, VRRP, HSRP, etc.)
o IP Telephony and quality of service concepts
o Wifi Network concepts (Wifi protocols, Wifi Access Points, Wifi Controllers, Wifi Network Management)
Data Center Networking
o Cabling concepts (Central, Top of rack, End of row) and electrical & optical cable types
o Blade Center switching concepts
o Data Center Interconnect concepts
Service Provider Routing:
o Routing protocol concepts:
OSPF
BGP and Route reflectors:
- VPLS
- MPLS
- RSVP
o Management of Layer 3 routing instances
Network Security:
o Knowledge of network security concepts (security zones, e DMZ and i DMZ, authentication and encryption, packet filtering techniques, etc.)
o Knowledge of components of security infrastructure
Network Vendor knowledge:
o Hands on Experience on Juniper EX & QFX switches and MX routers (Mandatory)
o Hands on Experience onJunos network operating system(Mandatory)
o Knowledge of Cisco Wireless products.
Network Management Concepts (SNMP, NetFlow, Sniffers, Network troubleshooting concepts, etc.)
DNS:
o Knowledge of DNS concepts
o DNS vendor knowledge: PowerDNS, EfficientIP
Wireless:
o Hands-on experience on Cisco Wireless products.
o Good to have knowledge of Cisco DNA.
