Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, invites applications for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under an ICMR-funded project in the Department of Medical Parasitology. The appointment is purely on a contractual basis for a period of one year or till the project continues.

As per the PGIMER Recruitment 2025 Notification, candidates with an M.Sc. in relevant fields are eligible to apply.

The selection for the post will be based on a walk-in interview.

The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary of Rs.31,000 + 18% HRA as per ICMR rules.

Educational Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Life Sciences or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.

Desirable Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates who are:
  • ICMR JRF/CSIR Fellows
  • GATE Fellows/DST Inspire Fellows
  • Candidates with relevant research experience

Age Limit

• As per ICMR rules.

Project Details

• Title: "Epidemiology, molecular identification, and phylogenetics of soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) and effect of mass deworming in a North Indian region".
• Principal Investigator: Dr. Sumeeta Khurana, Professor & Head, Department of Medical Parasitology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
• Funding Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Salary Details

• ₹31,000 per month + 18% HRA (as per ICMR rules).
